The post holder will support and advise the Hospital Manager on the implementation of the Assisted Decision-making (Capacity) Act 2015 (ADMCA) and the HSE National Consent Policy. The Post holder will support the Hospital Manager to promote a strong ADMCA working culture and work closely with the HSE National Office for Human Rights and Equality Policy in the roll out of the new legislation and the development of guidance and promotion of ADMCA in a wider context. Their role is to lead out on education and training developments in the area of ADMCA and the HSE National Consent Policy in the Hospital and the context of the implementation of an education programme for the existing ADMCA and structures. Taking the lead on quality and practice matters and other related service developments/initiatives in the area of ADMCA and the HSE National Consent Policy Audit and measurement for improvement will be an integral component of this role. Participation and contribution to the governance structures established at Hospital Group level to support ADMCA and implementation of the National Consent Policy is essential. They are integral to developing guidance, support materials, tools, acute to community care pathways at local level that comply with standards, legislation and guidelines from the National. They will be responsible for overseeing all Hospital DMR applications and support and guide completion of family DMR applications at local level that aid to promote best practice and care for those accessing Connolly Hospital services. Auditing practice and implementing new structures to aid quality improvement initiatives will be a focus of this role to optimise patient centred care and a rights based culture so that people are treated with fairness, respect, dignity, equality and participate as fully as possible in decisions about their care and support.

i) Be registered, or eligible for registration, on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU.
And
ii) Have 5 years full time (or an aggregate of 5 years full time) relevant post qualification experience.

iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, professional and managerial ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Annual Registration
i) On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on Social Workers Register maintained by the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU.

ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
