Overview

The post of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Clinical Skills Facilitator – Theatre) is a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, people management, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership

The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Clinical Skills Facilitator – Theatre) will deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse/Midwife Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008

HSE Dublin and North East region which provides health and social care to North Dublin, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and most areas of Cavan. Connolly Hospital is situated within the North Dublin area of the region.

 

Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown is a model 3* major teaching hospital providing a range of acute services including:

  • acute medical in-patient services

  • 24 hour emergency care

  • diagnostic and support services

Essential Criteria

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.

 

Eligible candidates will be those who on the closing date for the competition

 

 

  • Are registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered

                                                                  And

 

                                                                  

  • Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) - of which two must be in Theatre nursing or related area

And

 

  • Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

And

 

  • Candidate must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.

  • (b) Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

 

 

Annual Registration

  • On appointment, practitioners, must maintain live registration on the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann)

 

And

 

  • Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate [PSAC]

Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

 

Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
